Fundamentals and Advanced Programs
George began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2004 with Scott Hewitt at Titan Martial Arts (Renato Tavares Association) in Norman, OK. He was promoted to blue belt in 2005 and purple belt in 2006 by Renato. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma, George moved to Seattle. While looking for a new school to call home, he met Phil Anderson and joined the club in early 2008. George was promoted to brown belt in 2012. In February of 2015, he was presented his black belt by John Sylvester. George is the head instructor for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes at Summit.
No-Gi and Advanced Programs
Dmitriy began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2010 at Clockwork BJJ under Josh Griffiths in New York City. He was promoted to blue belt in 2010 and purple belt in 2011. Pursuing a job opportunity, Dmitriy moved to Seattle in late 2013. After touring Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academies around the area, he settled down at Summit Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He quickly became an integral part of the club and began teaching Friday night no-gi classes. Dmitriy was promoted to brown belt in February 2015.
Kiel McDougall is the owner of a personal training business in Seattle called Iron Tree Life. He is also the head kickboxing instructor at Alpha Martial Arts on Capitol Hill. Kiel has over 20 years of martial arts training experience and enjoys competing regularly in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He trained at Valko BJJ in Chicago. After moving to Seattle, Kiel received his Brown Belt from George Watkins in 2015. His classes frequently teach takedowns from Judo and Wrestling. Kiel enjoys running a youth martial arts program that focuses mainly on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and the Bushido Code.
